In Summer, the light from the sun is stronger than ever and so any imperfections on our faces may be highlighted more than in winter or in darker light.

 

However, it is essential in summer that you actually lighten your make up rather than increase it. If you cake on the make up in summer it will be visible for all to see and look quite stupid.

Furthermore, the heat of the sun may literally melt your face! with the result of not only looking bad but having a bad effect on your skin too.

Thus, stick to a little shimmering powder and highlight your eyes, maybe a little lipstick but otherwise leave as is.

Summer is not the time to pile on the makeup or whip up elaborate hairstyles. So, do I go bareface and pull my hair up into a knot every day to stay cool? I wish I could, but few of us can get away with that. So, here is a list of my favorites.

 

· First of all comes the sunblock. I never go out the door without a little protection. My face is already thanking me for that!

· While I might not apply a foundation, I do need a little color on my cheeks. I find that stains or blush creams give just the right amount of color and it looks natural.

·There is nothing prettier than seeing shiny hair on the beach and nothing worse than seeing long, dull, tresses. But it takes a little work. The sun is hard on your hair too. Condition well and use products especially formulated for the summer sun.

· I can get away without eye shadow, but I do need eye liner. And because I have oily lids, I always prep the lid. There is nothing worse that eye liner that has smeared. Not a pretty site. BTW, most cosmetic companies offer great products to prevent your eye makeup from melting.

·Heavy lipsticks aren’t for summer either. Look for something sheer. I often mix my lipsticks with a little petroleum jelly. It softens the color and offers great shine too.

· Polish those toenails, and while you are at it, make sure that your heels are free of dead skin. You might not notice it, but everyone else will.

· Keep your eyes open for little summer bags. I recently picked one up that was part of a set from Victoria Secret. Have you checked out their fragrances? Now, I not only smell good, I have a great little bag as well!

Another more helpful tips

Use a waterproof eyeliner for lasting power. You can also moisten your favourite shadow with water and apply it to your lash line.

 

 

Wear waterproof mascara to eliminate smudges under the eyes.

When it comes to cheeks, apply a stain to the apple to create a long-lasting effect.

Finish your look with the bronzer of your choice.

Once you apply your lipstick or gloss, place a tissue over your lips, run your finger across the paper and then remove the tissue. This will help to get rid of the excess but will not take away the pigment. Last but not least, have fun with your makeup. If you make a mistake you can always start again.

You can create a dewy, fresh look with makeup, or a bronzed, sophisticated look. It is available in neutral shades such as black, dark brown, and dark gray and it is also available in navy, blue, clear and a host of other fad colors.

Apply mascara at the lash base. Then wiggle the lash comb through to the tips of your lashes. Not into the lash comb? Get rid of clumbs without them by removing excess mascara from the wand. Wipe wand on tissue, this eliminates blobs BEFORE you start.

The best way to use this kind of a curler is to get as close to the eyelash line as you can, crimp and count to five slowly. Move the curler out just slightly and crimp again, move with the angle of the eyelashes. Depending on the length of your lashes, do repeatedly until you have curled all the way out. Most people can do this 2-3 times.

According to some beauty experts, mascara tubes should be replaced every three months and pumping the mascara wand repeatedly into the tube dries out mascara more quickly. It usually has enough mascara to use already.

Hold a magnifying mirror slightly above your face and position the mascara wand vertically straight in front of you. Lightly stroke down the bottom lashes, moving from the inner to the outer corner of the eye. Wipe off any excess on a tissue.

Using a proper application technique when applying mascara is extremely important to achieve a finished look.

The mucous membranes around the eye harbor all sorts of bacteria that can easily latch on to a mascara brush. If you come in contact with another person’s germs, you could wind up with conjunctivitis or some other infection.

The key to applying masscara is to paint thickly at the eyelash roots and gradually thin as your appoach the tips. This way you can create stunning dramatic eyelashes which still look natural.

Mascara is used from the underneath by holding the wand horizontally alternate to the eyelid and the brush is rolled slowly in the upward stroke.

Always remove eye makeup at the end of the day.

There are so many different brush types these days, it seems like it is difficult to achieve lashes that have it all. What does this mean exactly? The eyelash look which is generally the most sought after are eyelashes that are long, thick, well-separated with even coverage across the entire lash line. Sounds impossible, if you need five different brushes to achieve it!

These days you can buy replacement brushes at your local beauty store, so if your favorite mascara formula comes with a brush that does not suit you, it is not too difficult to locate a replacement brush that will help you achieve the look you want.

Another important point is that you really do not need to have all your bases covered when it comes to mascara brushes. It’s all about personal preferences. The resulting dogs aren’t always considered to be a new dog breed, but some of them do stack up to the standards to be considered as one of the dog breeds, and this is when the number of dog breeds starts to grow.

Since dog is supposed to be man’s best friend, it really is no surprise that the more ardent of dog lovers went on to cross breed different dogs to get what they considered to be the perfect dog for them.

This required many years of dedication on the part of these breeders as well as a love for the dogs. And the result of so many, many years of breeding programs by so many, many dog breeders is the large variety of dog breeds we have around us today.

And of these, one of the latest editions to the mix is none other than a cute cross breed called a Puggle who is crossed with a Beagle mother and Pug father. For the guys, short hair is key. Mohawks do express individuality, but do you really want to look back in 10 years and see that? If you think you are overreacting every time your teen asks for the keys, don’t worry, you have a very good reason to freak out!  According to the Institute for Highway Safety, 16-year olds get into accidents almost 10x’s more often than other drivers.  Many things account for this huge gap in accident rates. 

 

Driver inexperience is a major contributing factor.  To help your teen become a good driver, it is imperative to teach them the basic foundation of Driver Education.  This encompasses practicing the correct driving skills, and knowing the traffic laws.

 

Another factor is immaturity; young drivers take unnecessary risks such as speeding, not wearing a seat belt, and aggressive driving.  Be a good role model for your teen practicing safe driving techniques.

 

So now that your teen has graduated from a permit to their license, it’s time to buy a car.

 

Purchase a car that is cheap and has an outstanding crash rating.  Heavy cars do much better in an accident than small lightweight cars.  And you can bet that your teen will get into at least one fender bender. 

 

Enrolling your teen into a good defensive driving course will equip them with the necessary skills to avoid accidents. 

 

Make sure that your teen understands the forces involved in car crashes.  Explain to them that while your car has a crumple zone to soften crashes that occur at high rates of speed, your Skull has no such device to soften the impact your brain will make at these speeds.  Therefore teach them to always wear a seatbelt.

 

Finally, tell them NO to cell phones and friends.  According to MADD; “teen driving crash rates increase by 50% with just one teen passenger in the car, and by 400% with three or more teen passengers,” and the same hold true for those talking on cell phones.

 

In conclusion please remember that 63% of teenage deaths occur as a result of automobile accidents!
